The Headset Mic is not working.

Rate this post

Many headset users have reported that the microphone on their headset is not working properly. They are unable to converse with those who are speaking into the microphone.
Don’t be concerned if you’re experiencing this issue. You should be able to solve the problem fairly easily by utilising one of the solutions listed below.

Try the following fixes:
You may not have to try all of them. Simply work your way down the list until you find one that
suits you.

Allow access to the microphone on your headset (for Windows 10 users)
Make your microphone the default device.
Install the latest audio drivers.
Close any other apps that are using your headset microphone.
Troubleshoot hardware problems.

Allow access to your headset microphone as a first step (for Windows 10 users)
Before you can use your headset microphone, you must first grant your Windows 10 system and your application access to it. To double-check, go to:

In the lower left corner of your screen, click the Start button, then the Settings icon.
Select Privacy.
Select Microphone.
Click the Change button, then turn on the Microphone for this device.
Check that Allow apps to access your microphone is enabled.
Hopefully, this resolves your microphone problem. However, if this is not the case, there are three other solutions you can try.

3rd solution: Update your audio drivers.

If you use an incorrect or outdated audio or headset driver, the microphone on your headset will not work. So you should try updating the driver to see if that solves the problem.
You have the option of updating your driver manually or automatically. We won’t go over the manual process because it’s time-consuming, technical, and risky. We also do not recommend it unless you have extensive computer knowledge.
Automatically updating your driver, on the other hand, is very simple. Simply install and run Driver Easy, and it will automatically detect and install all of the devices on your PC that require new drivers. Here’s how to put it to use.

Driver Easy can be downloaded and installed here.
Launch Driver Easy and select the Scan Now option. Driver Easy will scan your computer for incompatible drivers.
To download the most recent and correct driver for your sound device or headset, click the Update button next to it.
You can also update all outdated or missing drivers on your computer by clicking the Update All button at the bottom right. (If you don’t already have the Pro version, you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All.)
Restart your computer after you’ve updated the driver for your audio devices. Log in again and check to see if the microphone is working.

Close any other apps that have access to your headset microphone.
Some communication apps, such as Discord, Skype, and Zoom, can sometimes mess with your headset microphone when they’re not in use, causing it to stop working properly. The simplest way is to close all other programmes that use the headset microphone. Then, see if the problem has been resolved.

Fix 5: Look into hardware problems.
If your headset microphone still does not work, it is most likely due to hardware issues with your computer or headset. There are a few things you must do in this case.
To begin, connect your headset to a different port on your computer. This will resolve any issues you may be having as a result of the port.
