The GW2485TC monitor boasts a solid build quality and a versatile stand that can be adjusted to your preference. It allows for vertical tilt of up to 25 degrees, horizontal swivel of 45 degrees in each direction, and a 90-degree pivot, enabling you to switch between landscape and portrait mode. The height can also be adjusted by 130mm.

Featuring a 1080p (1920×1080-pixel) panel, the monitor can display 16.7 million colors. However, it is not particularly bright, measuring 250cd/m2 in our tests. While sufficient for general Windows use in moderately lit rooms, it may not be ideal for streaming videos.

With a refresh rate of 75Hz, the monitor performs adequately, but its response time of 5 milliseconds is relatively slow, making it better suited for less demanding Windows tasks rather than fast-paced games that require quicker color transitions.

In terms of connectivity, the GW2485TC offers multiple ports, including HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C, ensuring easy connection to your PC, laptop, or other devices. The USB-C port also allows for daisy-chaining multiple monitors together, enabling a multi-monitor setup even if your PC has only one port.

One drawback is that the GW2485TC comes with only an HDMI cable. While this should suffice for most users, it would have been nice to have cables for the other ports as well. Additionally, the USB-C port does not connect to a USB hub, preventing the connection of other USB devices like keyboards or mice. However, this is not an issue if your intention is to frequently connect and disconnect a laptop.

While the monitor lacks a built-in webcam, it does include speakers and a microphone. The microphone impresses with its noise-cancellation feature, making it effective for video calls and blocking background noise. You will need to provide your own webcam, but a high-quality microphone is not necessary, saving you money in that regard.

One of the standout features of this monitor is its suite of eye-friendly tools. It offers various modes, such as Care Mode and Reading Mode. Care Mode reduces brightness and color saturation levels, which is beneficial when you’re fatigued or have sensitive eyes. Reading Mode filters out blue light, making late-night reading or working sessions less likely to disrupt your sleep.

There are other notable options to explore, including automatic brightness adjustment that adapts to the room’s lighting conditions and a setting to eliminate screen flickering, providing a more comfortable viewing experience.
