Beelink SER5 Max 5800H

The SER5 Max 5800H strikes a good balance between price and performance. It’s equipped with an eight-core AMD processor, and the review model we tested came with 32GB of RAM and a 500GB SSD. However, there are other configurations available if you require more storage or want to save some money by opting for less RAM.

You can find an alternative configuration on Amazon for £10 less, featuring 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. If you purchase directly from Beelink, this setup is even more budget-friendly, costing £20 less at £449. Nonetheless, we believe that the 32GB model is worth the extra investment because it helps prevent the computer from slowing down when you have multiple browser tabs open. Like most mini PCs, it’s relatively straightforward to remove the lid and access the RAM and storage if you decide to upgrade them later.

Beelink has maintained its reputation for producing high-quality designs with this product. The chassis combines metal and plastic, providing a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing appearance on your desk. The top of the unit features a metal grille, from which the built-in speaker delivers audio. On the front panel, you’ll find two USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C port, a headphone jack, and the power button. Two additional metal grilles on the sides help with cooling. On the rear, there’s a gigabit Ethernet port, another USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, a DisplayPort, and an HDMI port.

To keep the price reasonable, Beelink has opted for an older processor, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, which was released in 2021 as a top-tier option. It boasts eight cores, making it more than capable of handling general Windows tasks, image processing, and video editing. However, its weakest aspect is its graphics component, the AMD Radeon RX Vega 8, which isn’t suitable for running modern games at 1080p resolution. We recommend this mini PC primarily for everyday Windows tasks.

For those seeking a more versatile option, the SER6 Pro 7753HS is a better choice. It features a newer processor that won’t significantly impact Windows tasks but will provide a considerable boost in graphics performance, making it capable of running games. However, if you’re looking to play demanding titles like Microsoft Flight Simulator, a larger desktop PC with dedicated graphics hardware is still the preferred choice. Nevertheless, the SER6 Pro 7753HS can handle gaming reasonably well.
